I like how it involves walking and really looking at the ground that one now calls home. Looking back, I like how I can remember the search for the stone--who was with me, where I found it. And I totally agree with you about the physicality of the stone--I love how it comes from the earth and is really a part of the earth, just as we are part of the earth. It's very grounding that way, which I think I need when I'm living in a new place and have yet to put down any roots.

Lunch time! I'm hungry :-) Some things never change.Rosiecat24https://www.blogger.com/profile/07219527037186545061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822839939627192494.post-83882428730194770332009-11-28T09:05:03.113-06:002009-11-28T09:05:03.113-06:00Rose-Anne! Watch your mailbox :)
And... This was a lovely post. I especially love the kitchen stone. I'm not religious or even particularly spiritual, but I love ritual and significant objects and such; I particularly like the physicality of a stone, with its weight and stability, as a way to remember where you are. Lovely.ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16220553595935499440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822839939627192494.post-72907556548306279222009-11-27T10:53:36.706-06:002009-11-27T10:53:36.706-06:00Shannon, I totally agree with you about the blogs....Shannon, I totally agree with you about the blogs. I love them! But I have to be realistic about how much time I can spend reading them. I've stopped reading a few of them for now, which is a little sad, but it was necessary. Yours, though, I still read! That apple-cranberry sauce you made--YUM! I've got to make myself a batch of that stuff.

Thanks for the sweet birthday wishes. So far, I think 28 is pretty good! I'm happy and healthy, so anything more that that is like icing on the cake. (Mmm, cake...)Rosiecat24https://www.blogger.com/profile/07219527037186545061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6822839939627192494.post-21383754105956204342009-11-27T08:42:29.479-06:002009-11-27T08:42:29.479-06:00ooh, i should totally adapt your curfew! part of ...ooh, i should totally adapt your curfew! part of the trouble is these blogs ;) and you've adapted your new home with a sprinkling of "y'all," made me smile! glad you will get to see your niece for christmas, you two will have so much fun!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY rose-anne :) wishing you lots of happiness this year (i'm hoping it's a good one, too *wink*)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13898098819208716948noreply@blogger.com
